Packers are set to bear down

By DAN ZIELINSKI

After a lackluster performance and 16-point loss to the Vikings in Week 1, the Packers open their home schedule against their archrival Chicago Bears on Sunday night.

While it’s only the second week of the regular season, it’s an important game for the Packers. They looked out of sync on offense, struggling to string together successful drives against the Vikings.

Coach Matt laFleur’s Packers need to get in rhythm against the Bears, who defeated San Francisco in a rain storm in Week 1. With Aaron Rodgers at quarterback, the Packers will be competitive. But the offensive line needs to do a better job in pass protection and their young receivers to make plays and limit their mistakes. The defense also has to shore up their pass coverage

The Bears have some talent, headlined by young QB Justin Fields and a one-two punch in the backfield in David Montgomery and Khalil Herbert. Success running the ball on early downs will be important for the Bears, as it will give Fields more opportunities to succeed in the passing game.

Will the Bears snap their six-game losing streak against the Packers on Sunday? While the Bears are trending in the right direction, I don’t see the Packers dropping their second consecutive game, especially with this contest at Lambeau Field.

Prediction: Packers 24, Bears 17
