Look For The Packers To Ace The Biggest Test Of The Season
http://gty.im/626342758 My initial inclination is the Green Bay Packers will annihilate the Detroit Lions today.
The Lions, after all, are a run-of-the-mill rather than upper-echelon team. Two numbers are all you need to know about the Lions: 322 and 327. The former number is the points they have scored this season; the latter is the points they have yielded.
Case closed.
Then, again … upon further inspection, the Lions may be better than I and so many others contend. For starters, they are 6-1 at Ford Field. That’s impressive, especially considering the only other teams in the NFC with better home records are Dallas, New York and Seattle – all playoff-bound teams.
And, the Lions’ defense is surprisingly good. Yes, Dallas did a number on them last week, taming the Lions 42-21. But in the eight games prior to that debacle, the Lions never allowed an opponent more than 20 points and that included some potent offensive teams like New Orleans and Washington.
So, maybe today’s Packers-Lions game will be a down-to-the-wire thriller, right? Wrong. I’m sticking with my initial thoughts and fully expect Aaron Rodgers to stay white-hot with Jared Cook having a monster game as well:
Prediction: Packers 34, Lions 17.
