It could be long day for Packers
The Packers’ offense will be fine.
As long as Mike McCarthy is running the show, the Packers will put points on the board. Even without the incomparable Aaron Rodgers sidelined, McCarthy will figure out ways to make Brett Hundley look like a certifiable NFL quarterback.
The Packers’ defense?
That isn’t fine. It hasn’t been for most of the season and it’s questionable whether it’ll ever be a robust unit the rest of the season.
With the exception of the first game of the season against Seattle, when the Seahawks totaled a meager nine points, the Packers’ defense has been pretty much offensive, especially against top-notch teams with potent offenses.
The Cowboys racked up 31 points on the Packers; the Falcons shredded the Packers’ defense with a 34-point showing. Even the offensively-challenged Vikings managed to score 23 points against the Packers.
So, while the Packers should be solid offensively today – they simply have too much talent at the receiving corps, it’s hard to imagine the Packers keeping hall-of-fame in-waiting quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints’ high-powered offense in check.
Prediction: Saints 34, Packers 23
