Look for the Packers to ‘clock’ Bears
The NFL should institute a running clock.
It would be used every time a team got a lead of 30 or more points in the second half. At that point, the game clock couldn’t be stopped under any circumstance except injury.
The running clock will probably come into play during tonight’s game between the Packers and Bears. The Packers are a legitimately good team, a Super Bowl caliber team. The Bears are certifiably bad team, one that has a real shot at getting the No. 1 overall pick in the 2018 NFL draft.
The Bears are inept on offense (they’ve only scored 47 points this season) and pathetic on defense (they’ve yielded 69 points in three games. The fact they have actually won a game this season and beat a good team, no less, — they defeated Pittsburgh 23-1 in overtime last Sunday — is mind-boggling and a testament to Bears head coach John Fox.
But the Bears will come crashing back to earth against the Packers, who figure to score early and often.
Prediction: Packers 34, Bears 17.
