Zielinski: Packers possess winning formula

By DAN ZIELINSKI

Last week, the Packers used a run-heavy offensive scheme and made timely stops defensively to prevail without star quarterback Jordan Love.

The Packers enter Week 3 in a similar situation. Love’s status is up in the air, even though it would be wise to sit him, and the Packers face a team with numerous deficiencies.

Malik Willis has his flaws as a quarterback. But coach Matt LaFleur drew up an ideal gameplan, running the ball 53 times compared to just 14 pass attempts. When the Packers threw the ball, short completions allowed the receivers to use their speed and athleticism to make plays.

Te Titans aren’t really in a better situation at the quarterback position. Titans quarterback Will Levis has talent, but turnovers have hindered his young career. This season, he has tried making plays when nothing is there, resulting in five turnovers in the first two games. That’s not a great stat for the Titans, as the Packers lead the NFL with six forced turnovers through the season’s first two weeks.

The Titans’ offense has yet to prove they can thrive and carry the team. Until that happens, it’s hard to imagine them beating a quality opponent like the Packers. The Packers just need to have success running the ball and force a turnover or two, and they should prevail in a tight contest.

Prediction: Packers 20, Titans 17
