Packers-Bears game by the numbers

Here are some of the numbers that helped define the Packers 10-3 win over the Chicago Bears:.

• This was the second time the Packers have defeated the Bears 10-3 in a regular season game. It happened on January 2, 2011 in the last game of the 2010 season.
• The Bears scored first in the game with a first quarter field goal. No problem, however for the Pack; they have now won seven of the last eight games against the Bears when the Bears score first in the contest.
• Green Bay did not score in the first quarter. They are 21-22 (.488 winning percentage) since 2010 when they do not score in the first quarter.
• The Aaron Rodgers-to-Jimmy Graham TD pass, the game’s only TD, was just the third TD pass Graham has caught as a Packer.
• Packers’ punter JK Scott (pictured above) punted nine times in the game. The team record for most punts in a game is 11. It happened twice in 1950 and once in 1953. Most punts by the Packers in a game since 2000 was in 2006 when the Packers punted 10 times in a 35-0 loss to the New England Patriots.
• Green Bay had a four-point lead going into the fourth quarter, 7-3. The Packers are now 67-3-1 (.951 winning percentage) since 2010 when they are leading by four points or more entering the fourth quarter. They are 25-3 (.893) in road games since 2010 when they are leading by four points or more heading into the fourth quarter.
• The Pack’s defense held the Bears to only 46 yards rushing. Green Bay is now 60-9-1 (.864) all-time when they allow the opposition less than 50 yards rushing in a game.
• Green Bay won the Time of Possession battle with 31:03 minutes of TOP versus the Bears’ 28:57. Since 2015, Green Bay is 17-11-1 (.603) when they have more TOP than their opponents in a game.
• The Packers held the Bears scoreless in the second, third and fourth quarters. Green Bay is now 51-3-1 (.936) in games where they hold the opponents scoreless after the first quarter.
• Green Bay has been held to 10 points or less in 139 regular season games since the merger back in 1970. They have only won eight of those games, an 8-129-2 (.065) record in regular season games when they score 10 or fewer points in a contest.
• Holding their opponents under 10 points, however, is a different story. The Packers are now 94-5 (.949) since 1970 in games when they hold the opposition to under 10 points in a regular season game.
• Aaron Rodgers did not have an interception in the game. The Packers are now 73-24-2 (.747) in games started by Rodgers when he does not throw a pick.
• Rodgers had a TD pass in the game and has now thrown a TD pass in 146 regular season games, tied for 15^th on the all-time list. Brett Favre tops the list with at least one TD pass in 249 regular season games.
• The Packers did not have a turnover in the game and is now 71-13-2 (.836) since 2000 in games when they do not commit a turnover.
• Rodgers was sacked five times in the game. Prior to the win last night, the Packers were 3-16 (.158) since 2010 in games where their QB is sacked five or more times.
• The defense sacked Bears QB Mitchell Trubisky five times. They are now 17-2-1 (.875) since 2010 in games when they sack the opposing QB five or more times.
• Green Bay’s defense did not allow a TD in the game. Since 1940, the Packers are 94-7 (.931) in regular season games where they did not allow a TD. The last loss in a game where they did not allow a TD was in 1993 when they lost to the Minnesota Vikings 15-13. The Vikes kicked five field goals that day to win the contest.
