Packers DBs Need To Step Up

Of all the NFL opening-weekend playoff games, the Packers-Giants encounter at Lambeau Field today is the most intriguing.

Would it surprise you if the Packers and Aaron Rodgers, who has been insanely good for several weeks now, won by 10 points or more?

No.

Would it surprise you if the Giants and Eli Manning, who transforms into Peyton Manning in the playoffs, won by 10 or more points?

No.

The fact of the matter is that Rodgers, possessor of one Super Bowl ring, and Manning, possessor of two Super Bowl rings, are both fully capable of putting their respective teams on their backs.

To me, the Packers will win if their young cornerbacks Damarious Randall and LaDarius Gunter play the game of their lives. That might be asking for too much as each of them has had roller-coaster type seasons.

If Randall and Gunter hold up, this could be a classic game. If they don’t though, it could be a bitterly cold and frustrating day for the Packers.

Prediction: Giants 20, Packers 17
