Defensive Ailments Will Hurt Packers Again

It’s hard to fathom the Green Bay Packers under Mike McCarthy and with a healthy Aaron Rodgers healthy suffering three straight setbacks. But that could easily happen today.

The Packers, coming off losses against Atlanta and Indianapolis, are a train wreck, mostly notably on defense. In three of their last four games, the Packers have been scorched on defense. Dallas put up 30 points on them, and Atlanta and Indianapolis racked up 33 and 31 point, respectively.

There’s absolutely no reason to believe Tennessee won’t light up the scoreboard against the Packers today as well. The Titans are rolling on offense. They haven’t scored fewer than 26 points in their last five games, including 35 last week against San Diego.

Making matters worse for the Packers, they still resemble a M*A*S*H unit on defense. Starting cornerback Damarious Randall and linebacker Clay Matthews are out. Micah Hyde is questionable, and it’s still up in the air whether defensive back Quinten Rollins will be ready to roll.

Can the Packers – can any team – overcome such adversity? Not likely.

Prediction: Tennessee 28, Green Bay 20.
